Modern Day Gotham

Gotham City is a large metropolis and the hometown to its richest resident, Bruce Wayne, also known by his vigilante alias Batman. It is known for its gothic, gritty tone, and an absurd amount of crime, housing Batman's most dangerous foes. It bears a large resemblance to New York and Chicago. In the 1800s it was founded by Henry Hudson and named for the 'warlock' Dr.Gotham, who was buried in the heart of the city. Originally Gotham Town, Gotham expanded to become the super city it is today. It has many landmarks like the stadium that was bombed by Bane in 2012 and the national park. Gotham has also been notable for using Zeppelins, as the police and other people and companies use them often. 2 NFL teams, The Rogues and the Knights, are founded in Gotham. Corruption soon came to Gotham in the 1930s as the Mafia flourished, worsening over the years. For all this crime, Arkham Asylum was built and held millions of insane criminals and the mentally ill since the 1800s. During the Injustice series, Chicago was the main setting for Gotham City, and New York was the Main setting for Metropolis.
